Six Sigma

Six Sigma is a project management methodology that systematically reduces errors, increases efficiency and, at the same time, achieves high profitability. A large number of large companies are very successful in practicing Six Sigma - and increasingly demand this from their suppliers. Due to the digital transformation, the number of sensors is increasing and the networking of systems is increasing. This data is generated on a large scale. Here, Six Sigma provides competencies to analyze the data, but also to profit from the knowledge gained. In addition to the classic goal of improving quality and reducing error costs, Six Sigma can also be used to better understand processes and product and their interactions - a strategic competitive advantage.

Statement Prof. Dr.-Ing Thomas Dietmüller:

"In times of big data, machine and deep learning, data mining and data science, statistically based knowledge is becoming increasingly important.
This combined with an industry-proven improvement methodology will continue to be the key to successful quality and process improvement.
Six Sigma is thus an important building block on the way to becoming an intelligent factory. "

Benefits of Six Sigma:

  • Personal competence of employees is strengthened by the systematic project management in the team
  • First successes are achieved quickly and problems are solved quickly and, above all, sustainably
  • If the project is well selected, the first training project will already "earn" significantly more than the costs for this course
  • For the digital transformation, the company has well-trained problem solvers and experienced employees in structured project work
  • In the company, the Mind Change is driven to "Decide on the basis of numbers, data, facts"

Corporate culture plays a key role in Six Sigma. Here, the specific features of large companies and SMEs are discussed as well as practical tips on how to proceed. The Six Sigma Greenbelt training has a high percentage of interactive learning and the coaches attach great importance to the direct applicability. Six Sigma means here: practical solutions!

If necessary, Minitab 18 is used as software. Therefore, every participant must have a notebook with the software Microsoft® Excel from 2003 as well as MINITAB® from R15. You can download the MINITAB® software as a free demo or buy it here >> MINITAB®.

That's what former participants say ...

"The IWT not only organized an exciting event with the Six Sigma Seminar and the high-class speakers, but also contributed to a sustainable change in the way of thinking in everyday professional life with the topic of the participating companies and participants. This continues to ensure that the Lake Constance region is home to highly innovative companies with high-quality, high-tech products. In addition, thanks to the IWT, expertise can now be acquired regionally, thus making exchanges between companies more direct.
The event series can only be recommended to anyone who is interested. "

The course ends on the last day with a written exam. The exam lasts approximately 1 h and includes the content of the training. The participants receive after successful examination the IWT qualification certificate "Six Sigma - Green Belt (without project)".

In order to deepen the practical content in a first Six Sigma project, we offer an accompanying, individual coaching of the training project in the company by the coaches. After completing the exam, you will have 18 months to complete the Six Sigma improvement project. In the final report you show the application of the method with the resulting savings potential. As soon as the practice exam is passed, we issue you the IWT certificate "Six Sigma - Greenbelt" according to ISO 13053-1. If you are interested, feel free to contact us!
